Chocolate Coated Wheatgrass Shot

Chocolate Coated Wheatgrass Shot

Wheatgrass and I have never been friends. Not that I haven’t tried! As much as I dream of being able to treat my body to such a magical substance, I just find the experience of drinking it to be absolutely stomach turning. I have been made aware that the nausea factor could be due to moldy grass which seems to be the case at a lot of juice bars. Thankfully, I’ve found a brand that grows their grass outdoors with a lot of  careful attention to juicing it fresh! The result is a sweet juice that never upsets my stomach. Add a little chocolate and I’m a happy, wheatgrass juicing lady!

Ingredients for 1-2 Servings:

2 cups water

2 bags of chocolate flavored tea (I love Yerba Mate Chocolatte or Double Dark Chocolate Mate)

2 cubes of frozen wheatgrass

1 dropperful NuNaturals Cocoa Extract and/or a heaping spoonful of unsweetened cocoa powder

1 dropperful NuNaturals Vanilla Stevia

Heat the water and steep the tea bags for about 5 minutes. I like to put it in the fridge until its cooled so that its just barely warm enough to melt the wheatgrass. Test with your finger to make sure its not too hot. Add remaining ingredients and stir til cocoa is dissolved and wheatgrass is liquified.

Variation: Replace on bag of chocolate tea with a bag of peppermint tea for a peppermint-cocoa blend!
